We are excited to announce that Evansville has once again been awarded one of only five World Natural Bodybuilding Federation pro contests for 2009. The WNBF is the largest drug-free bodybuilding organization in the country and boasts the World, Universe, International, Pro-America, and now the Mid-America championships. They have a twenty-year record of attracting athletes from all over the world due to strict drug testing and professionalism.
The 2008 Mid-America Pro-Am included 97 of the very top pro and amateur bodybuilding and figure competitors from around the country. That made it the single biggest inaugural event in the history of natural bodybuilding. Given the level of success, the historic venue (Victory Theatre), and talent present we attracted media coverage in newspapers, television, and national publications.
Our goal is to continue to grow this event and use it as a springboard to launch aggressive philanthropic goals for the community. We look forward to increasing our presence as a leader in drug-free athletics, health, and fitness within the region. With that goal in mind, we are donating proceeds from this event to support drug-free athletics and education. We are also currently in the early stages of creating a non-profit foundation with a primary goal of educating families, specifically inner city residents, on the benefits of healthy nutrition and healthy nutritional behaviors in the home. Our mission is to provide another valuable resource to this community and beyond in an attempt to address one of the greatest threats to our children today, that of obesity.
As we did last year, we will use this platform in conjunction with local DEA and DARE officials to reach out to our schools with a strong anti-drug/steroid training workshop as part of the contest weekend. We would not miss this opportunity to reach out to our local kids.
We are asking for your help in making this event a reality. Prize money and operating costs are significant with an event of this magnitude. We would not bring an event this big to Evansville if we could not ensure the quality for all involved or if we could not extend our reach and positive influence in the community.
We have a strong sense of loyalty to sponsors. We do not view this as just raising money. We are planning significant national and local advertising and though the high school athlete and kids sessions are heartfelt outreaches, we like the added value your companys involvement will enjoy. We could not be more excited to involve as much of our community as we can in a fitness weekend with an international professional bodybuilding and a figure contest as the centerpiece. We will receive coverage in television, radio, and print media as well as event programs and tee shirts of which you will be a part. Banner space, tickets, and other company requests are welcomed.
